Here at Needleworks we've been celebrating
Southern traditions in needlepoint for over 15 years!

Whether it’s for a family celebration, to decorate a home, or honor a true friend,
we know the importance of convention and strive to continue stitching our legacy.

So, if you're a girl who's been raised in the South, loves to needlepoint,
and knows the difference between “bless you” and “bless your heart,”
then this is the place for you!

Does Needleworks have a Stitch Group?

Yes!  A group meets at the shop on Thursday evenings from 6:30–8:30 pm. This gathering is not for individual instruction but for support to individuals who require guidance with a stitching dilemma or thread selection. All levels of ability are welcome. Seating is limited to eight people. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Please contact us to reserve a seat. Also, there are several groups that meet in the Birmingham area and welcome visitors. Contact the shop for details.

Are there any guilds I can join?

There are two active guilds in the Birmingham area. The Birmingham Needlearts chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America (EGA) meets at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Cahaba Heights, on the second Thursday of the month. To receive information contact newsletter@bhamega.com. The Cahaba Lily Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild (ANG) meets at the Riverchase United Methodist Church, Hoover, on the first Tuesday of the month. Just In Case
If you're not Southern, that's OK. . . we'll be delighted to help you and show you just how helpful "girls raised in the South who needlepoint" can be.

And If you're not quite sure you're Southern, consider what my father said about the South; “It’s a place where nice matters, and where progress does not come at the expense of people.”

Finale

We want to help you with your needlepoint projects and hope you'll find us friendly and knowledgeable. We'll make every effort to assist you in creating unique and individual works of art beginning with the selection of canvas and threads and ending with creative finishing.
