I truly can't remember why I
started painting on the walls.
Actually I think it all started with our children one rainy teacher
workday. They were all home and needed something fun to stimulate
them. . . . what better way than to have them paint on
the walls?
I drew 11x14, 16x20 and 8x10 rectangles all over
the walls in one of the
bathrooms, gave them each
some acrylic paints
and let them go!
Our four ranged in age then from 10 down to 3, and I have to say that
the resulting artwork was wonderful! Everyone did at least
2 or 3 pictures. Paintings ranged from Frank's really good "Basketball
Man" rendition to Anne's "Flowered Fence" to
Libby's "Doll in a Chair" all the way down to Michael's
"Turtle in the Wind" (that one was a bit of a reach, but that's
what he said it was; we admired it, and he was happy!)
We all had a great time; the paintings stayed on those walls for
years, and I think that was exactly how all this wall painting business
of mine began.
Now the images are a little
more refined,
but getting them on the walls has never been more fun-filled
than it was
on that rainy afternoon years ago. |
